My Whirlwind Media Tour

I am on the plane heading home from NYC after a whirlwind media tour with Stacey Johnes of PR Takeoff. Besides being an incredibly productive and successful trip, it was the perfect time to be in the city. The weather was perfect-just cool enough that I could pull out my coat for night(very fun for a Palm Springs girl) but nice enough during the day that my little leather jacket did me just fine. I wish I had worn a pedometer, we raced from meeting to meeting and only cabbed it once when our feet finally had had enough!

Meanwhile, I got to soak up a bunch of NYC atmosphere which I love. I did see some things that took my breath away, the first one being a gourmet cupcake van-yep, you know how they have those ice cream trucks, well now they have cupcake trucks. God forbid you should have to WALK to get your sugar fix. I also saw a truck with “Snackers do it in between meals” promoting those 100 calorie snack packs. Much as I am the anti-snacker I thought that was really funny.

And I have to do a pitch for two of the places I went to dinner – one was the Blue Water Grill done in the meatpacking district(love it there, sort of like South Beach in NYC) and we had the best sushi ever and a sweet potato and crab hash that I have to have Chef Lauren knock off. The second was Le Colonial on the upper East Side-vietnamese French cuisine. I had the most amazing Brussels Sprouts ever(I know, I know you either love em or you hate ‘em!).
