So what's bad about diet sodas to those with any sort of will power?? I mean I'll have a diet soda maybe 2-3 times/week and I still write down my foods in a journal (because I want to) and stick to my calories and let berries and other fruits be my only source of real sugar. I feel like those who switch from regular soda to diet are already probably making ignorant diet choices and are also perhaps lacking in the activity department.

Hi JJ,
Something a lot of people don't realize is that showering in treated (i.e. city) water can increase your exposure to many chemicals. A simple solution is an inexpensive shower filter available at big box home products stores or online. I hope you don't mind the plug but we carry them to! http://www.healthybizhealthyhome.com/showerfilters.html

I live this every day. I already know how my body reacts to simple carbs, so I've never even considered the "Special K Diet" 'cause that would be really bad for me.

This post has confirmed some things for me. Thanks!

I have tried everything and just can't get the weight off so I was super excited to read this article. I was very interested in what you have to say about gut bacteria. But, you didn't really provide a way to deal with that issue. Can you please give more information? Thanks!!

Comment on Are you eating propylene glycol? by Lance

Hi, just wanted to add a couple things you may not be aware of. Propylene glycol is very misunderstood, it isn't a harmful substance like everyone thinks it is. It is only used in antifreeze as a replacement for the sweet tasting substance they previously used that attracted dogs to drink it. It was only added to antifreeze recently to make it safer for animals, propylene glycol itself is not antifreeze and not harmful like antifreeze. Propylene glycol is also the preferred method of carrying medicines with inhaler type therapies. It is also a major ingredient in vaping e-liquid for electronic cigarettes which is typically around 70% PG. Now I'm not trying to say that it is good for you, anything in large quantities can be bad for your health as is the same with PG, but it isn't some evil chemical that will kill you if you use it. I do understand toxic loads and that everything you do adds to that load and cutting out any possible toxins will subtract from your toxic load but as with most daily encountered toxins, eating right, good exercise, and regular detox intervals will counteract the use of PG in small quantities. Just my 2 cents on the matter, i'm not a doctor but I do use PG regularly with no problems and have been for several years.
