FIT Genetics Profile video

Is this test right for you? Let me ask you a few quick questions…

Are you hungry all the time or constantly thinking about food?

Do you go out of your way to see out certain foods, even though you know they don’t support your health?

Have you been diagnosed with insulin resistance, or are two or more members of your family overweight or obese?

Do you have a really hard time losing weight, or a tendency to regain it after losing it?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, then it is likely that your genetics are impacting your ability to lose and maintain weight, your overall fitness, and general health.

Now you may be saying: “I can’t do anything about my genetics, can I?”

Well, it’s true that you can’t actually change your underlying genetics (not yet anyway), but the good news is that you most definitely CAN change your behaviors in very specific ways to MODIFY the way that your genes are expressed.

And the really good news is that thePathway Fit™ Genetics Wellness & Weight Loss Profile provides you with detailed guidance and specific strategies so that you can conquer your cravings, hunger, and stubborn weight loss resistance once and for all.

This means that your genes are NOT your destiny!

This innovative test gives you your individual blueprint for diet, exercise and specific nutrients. It details your risk for obesity and metabolic syndrome and outlines your eating behavior traits and food reactions.

With your test results in hand, your personal Wellness Coach will outline a plan of action to help you:

  1. Reach and maintain a healthy weight
  2. Understand your metabolism and dietary traits
  3. Get the most benefit from physical activity and exercise
  4. Enhance the nutritional balance of your diet
  5. Feel better and have more energy
  6. And reach your best health ever!

More good news:

YOU ONLY HAVE TO DO THIS TEST ONE TIME!

Unlike personal biochemistry tests that must be repeated every 6-12 months for optimal results, this is a one-time only test.

“Now I know that it’s not my fault…”

Nell“This test is the best thing to come along as far as giving me insight into the WHY's of my behavior, as well as why something that works for me may not work for someone else.

I finally quit beating myself up about my sweet tooth now that I know it’s not my fault - and am finally trying to manage it once and for all.”

- Nell Walton

“I have been eating the wrong diet for a while… now I know and will be able to to lose these 10 pounds that have come on and stayed!”

Susan

“The FIT test confirmed some of my bad eating behaviors, which has caused me to make big changes in my life.

For example, I’m an increased snacker, so I’m shifting my snacks to healthier options like almonds and apples. I’m also more likely to have eating disinhibition, Now that I know this, I immediately store my leftovers so that I’m not tempted to keep eating.

I have been eating the wrong diet for a while – since I quit exercising it seems I switched to more carbs  - double bad! So I now know that I have to start working out, change my diet and I will be able to lose these 10 pounds that have come on and stayed!”

- Susan Tafralis

Can you tell me more about the test?

FIT Genetics Report

I have spent the past year and a half working with the scientists at the laboratory where this report was developed. They lab used my weight loss resistant clients along with the Biggest Loser participants to do a study to see the common genetic variants among overweight and obese people.

We also ran the profile on some of the TLC Freaky Eaters. The results were eye-opening and insightful. We began to see some things that we can put into immediate action to ensure that your genes don’t become your destiny.

One of my clients, N.W., showed up with the gene for eating disinhibition and the FTO gene variant for gaining more weight than average if she didn’t exercise.

This made her realize that she had to be even more vigilant with “getting the enemy out of the house” in terms of trigger foods AND that exercise had to be consistently scheduled into her day.

Another client, A.S., had the genetic predisposition towards elevated blood sugar and cholesterol, and in fact he struggled with both of these.

The report also showed that he would do better on a slightly lower fat diet and that he had the genes associated with gaining weight back faster than normal – a phenomenon he had experienced on multiple occasions.  This helped him understand that certain interventions would need to be lifelong or high weight, elevated cholesterol and blood sugar would become an issue all over again.

We tested Victor, the man addicted to cheeseburgers on the Freaky VictorEaters show. He was the guy who ate 4 or more cheeseburgers a day and was a diabetic who didn’t take his meds. He hated vegetables and could tell if a lettuce leaf had as much as touched his burger patty, and if it had, he wouldn’t eat it.

Turns out Victor had the genes for diabetes AND he was a super taster and especially sensitive to bitter taste. He learned to find vegetables and fruits that he liked. He specifically enjoyed the mango salsa and mushrooms but wasn’t a fan of the very green veggie burger.

Amber came to the show because she was sure she has some kind of medical problemAmber that was making her not able to eat much of anything besides French fries. She would get physically ill if she tried a food that she didn’t like. A bite of carrot had her throwing up 30 minutes later when we tried a taste on the show.

It turns out that Amber had abnormal taste gene variants that made it near impossible for her to guess what she would actually enjoy. And she also had what the lab director termed the trifecta of genetic variants to create challenging eating habits - eating disinhibition, above normal food desire (i.e., she would go out of her way for foods that she really liked, namely French fries) and increased hunger.

When she learned about this, it helped her deal with her eating issues, accept them and also increased her willingness to try new foods with the understanding that if she liked something or was neutral about it, then it was something that could be incorporated into her daily diet.

Picture 4.png“After getting my results back, I discovered that my sweet tooth and eating disinhibition were a result of my genes!

So, JJ helped me with a plan to “keep the enemies out of the house” and avoid situations that were tempting me.  She gave me ideas for replacing my cravings with healthier options.

I’ve also upped my exercise, based on my profile results, and feel like I have a really good blueprint for helping me take and keep the weight off for good.”
