You Have the Power to Choose Who You Want to Be In This Moment
In 1996, Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor had a stroke when a blood vessel erupted on the left side of her brain. The stroke left her unable to speak, read, walk, write, or remember anything from her past. Her 8-year recovery period impacts her work today.
In this podcast, JJ Virgin talks with Dr. Taylor about brain health, present-moment awareness, and how to better manage stress and anxiety. Dr. Taylor begins by debunking some popular brain myths. (You know the one where we only use 10% of our brains? That’s not true.)
We also talk about present-moment awareness and how being in this moment can help lower stress levels.
Through what she calls whole-brain living (also the title of her new book), Dr. Taylor says that we have the power to choose who we want to be in this moment and that we can train ourselves to be present. Dr. Taylor goes on to share her definition of personal freedom, and why she believes a stroke was the greatest gift of her life.
If you’ve ever felt stuck in a past pattern that holds you back or struggled with anxiety about the future, you don’t want to miss this informative podcast.
