Recipe: Cinnamon Almond Overnight Oats

Nutty, creamy, and prepped in minutes? I’ll take it!

Your fridge does all the hard work with this simple and delicious recipe for overnight oats. Just stir together the ingredients, fill your jar, and head to bed!

This recipe has plenty of metabolism-boosting ingredients, including almonds, cinnamon, and coconut yogurt. And by pulling out the dairy and gluten in your tasty breakfast, you also leave out two of the most common causes of weight gain, joint pain, headaches, and other signs of food intolerance.

Remember, the key here is to use a high-quality protein powder that’s free of inflammatory ingredients like whey, soy, and gluten. Ditto for artificial sweeteners or all-natural options that are still high-sugar impact. (I’m looking at you, honey and maple syrup. And don’t even get me started on agave…)

The end result is a meal that will leave you satisfied, bright-eyed, and ready for your day!

Cinnamon and almonds are a perfect match in this yummy, gluten-free overnight oats recipe, with energizing protein and filling fiber for a great breakfast!

Ingredients

1 scoop JJ Virgin Vanilla All-In-One Protein Shake powder*

2/3 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk

1/3 cup unsweetened, full-fat coconut milk yogurt

1/2 cup gluten-free rolled oats (not quick cook)

2 tbsp unsweetened almond butter

2 tbsp sliced almonds

1 tbsp freshly ground flaxseed

1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

Pinch of sea salt

Directions

1In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk together the protein shake powder, almond milk, and yogurt until thoroughly mixed and smooth.

2Stir in the remaining ingredients until well-combined.

3Spoon into a one-pint jar with a tight-fitting lid.

4Close and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight, before eating.
