Recipe: Peach & Mint Iced Green Tea

This refreshing and rejuvenating recipe takes tea time to a whole new level! 

Perfect for when you need a mid-day boost, green tea can improve your memory and focus without the jitters associated with other caffeinated drinks. So now that we’re all perked up, let’s talk about mint! This aromatic herb has natural antibacterial properties which promote gut health, making this a great after-lunch choice to aid in digestion. Peppermint also supports weight loss and, because it’s a natural antihistamine, can help fight seasonal allergies.

You might notice this recipe calls for Pique Tea Crystals, which are cold-brewed and crystallized to create a superhero version of this amazing drink. But it’s not all about being healthy – I love Pique Tea because this gold-medal winning tea has incredibly clear, refreshing flavor.

And it’s hard to beat a tea that comes in convenient little single servings you can stick in your bag or pocket! Because they’re already cold brewed and crystallized, you can also skip the hot brewing process and go straight for a glass of ice.

If you don’t have Pique Tea handy (yet!), you can use 2 traditional organic green tea bags here and double the amount of fresh mint. In that case, you’ll also need to brew your tea with hot water, then allow it to cool before you add it to the peach and mint in the glasses.

One last tip: let’s think outside the tea cup! For those of you looking for an adult beverage, this recipe can easily transform into the perfect summer cocktail. Just add 1-1/2 ounces of vodka or tequila, shake over ice, and garnish with a sprig of fresh mint.

With all the health benefits of green tea and mint, this naturally sweet iced tea will not only refresh and rejuvenate you, it can promote weight loss, detoxify, and so much more!

Ingredients

2 packets Mint Green Pique Tea Crystals*

2 Tbsp fresh mint leaves, torn into small pieces

16 oz. filtered cold water

1 small organic peach, sliced

Dash of monk fruit sweetener (optional)

Directions

1In a large mason jar, stir together water, Pique Tea crystals, and monk fruit (optional); stir until crystals are fully dissolved.

2Divide the peaches and mint into two glasses and muddle with the back of a spoon, until the fruit and mint are crushed and the peach slices release their juice.

3Fill the glasses with ice, pour in the brewed tea, and enjoy!
