Recipe: Vanilla Raspberry Protein Pops

by JJ Virgin on May 24, 2018

Nothing takes me back to childhood like a popsicle!

Of course, the ones we had back then were nothing but water, sugar, and artificial colors and flavors, packaged in little plastic tubes. They were anything but healthy…

Here’s a modern version that’s decidedly more friendly to both your waistline and your energy levels – no more sugar crash! Instead, these creamy vanilla pops are studded with raspberries full of fiber and omega-3s. There’s also a boost of clean protein, which is proven to help you burn fat and build muscle.

Make a batch of these for your kids or grandkids, and watch their eyes light up. Even better – let them celebrate summertime with protein pops for breakfast! They’ll think they’ve hit the dessert jackpot, and you’ll know they’re getting great nutrition.

This recipe calls for vanilla protein powder, but you can easily substitute chocolate if you prefer. The raspberries are also easily swapped for blueberries, chopped strawberries, or thinly sliced peaches.

Just be sure you use clean protein. That means no inflammatory dairy/whey or soy (the top offenders for food intolerances and weight gain), and stay away from anything with more than 3 grams of sugar per serving.

As you might imagine, I’m partial to my own formulation! My All-In-One Protein Shakes are available in Paleo-Inspired or Plant-Based protein. They’ve got a whopping 21-22 grams of protein per serving, plus the fiber, vitamins, and healthy fats you need for a balanced meal. And they do all of that with under 1 gram of sugar!

So what are you waiting for? Time for a batch of popsicles. (Flip flops and beach chairs optional…)
